Anxiety-Free Dental Care with Sedation Dentistry
Peninsula Center of Cosmetic Dentistry is the only cosmetic dentist in the area offering a range of sedation options, including IV sedation, specifically designed to minimize stress and dental anxiety.
Nitrous Oxide
Commonly known as “laughing gas,” this is the most common type of dental sedation. The gas takes effect quickly and wears off almost instantly, allowing you to drive home after your appointment. Nitrous oxide is easy to control with minimal side effects, making it one of the safest and most effective ways to treat anxiety.
Oral Conscious Sedation
This type of sedation typically comes in the form of a pill or liquid. Medications like Halcion or Valium provide minimal to moderate relaxation. You’ll feel drowsy or groggy but remain alert enough to respond to questions and understand your surroundings.
IV Sedation and General Anesthesia
Administered directly into the bloodstream, IV sedation places you on the edge of consciousness, often with little or no recollection of the procedure. General anesthesia places you completely under and usually requires an anesthesiologist's supervision. Both forms require you to arrange a ride home with a friend or family member after your appointment.

FAQ's About Sedation
How does IV sedation work?
IV sedation puts you in a relaxed state of mind but does not put you to sleep. You will remain awake and able to respond to any requests the doctor may have while you are sedated. Patients often experience partial or total amnesia for the full period of sedation, meaning you will not remember most or all of the procedure. The drugs we use will give you a very pleasant feeling of euphoria. You will be aware of what is happening, feel at ease, and be able to respond to our requests during the procedure – all this, and you won’t remember a thing!
Is sedation safe?
Yes, sedation dentistry is safe when administered by trained professionals. We monitor your vital signs throughout the procedure to ensure your safety and adjust sedation levels as needed.

She is a highly experienced Prosthodontist with focus on Implant Dentistry and Cosmetic Rehabilitation. Her passion lies in creating beautiful smiles by analyzing every individual’s unique characteristics’ and providing personalized recommendation based on their specific needs and desires.
From facially generated Digital Smile Design and full mouth rehabilitation to digitally guided implant placement and “teeth in a day concept”, her commitment is to pursue excellence through innovation by prioritizing her patients’ well-being.
Dr. Duc Pham
A bay area native, Dr. Duc Pham grew up in San Jose, CA. Dr. Pham chose to stay local and attended San Jose State University where he earned his B.S. in Biochemistry with a minor in Biology. Furthering his education, he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the prestigious University of the Pacific in San Francisco, CA.
Dr. Pham then continued his dental career in the United States Navy, where he received advanced clinical training including: digital Cerec® CADCAM dentistry, periodontics, oral surgery and endodontics. Being a big proponent on family & friends and his love for California, he decided to finish his service in the Navy and return to the city where he grew up.

The Invisalign Treatment Process
Consultation & Exam
During your first visit, your doctor will take a look at your bite and smile to determine if Invisalign is the right option for you. This is also a great opportunity for you to ask any questions that you may have about your smile, Invisalign, or other treatment options.
Aligner Pick Up
Once you’re approved for treatment, we will take scans or impressions of your teeth to ensure your Invisalign trays fit perfectly. When your aligners arrive at our office, you’ll come and pick them up to begin your treatment.
Check-ins
Once you’re approved for treatment, we will take scans or impressions of your teeth to ensure your Every six weeks or so, you’ll come back to our office to pick up your next few sets of aligners. Every treatment plan is different, so this amount of time may vary based on your needs. These check-ins are essential to ensure your treatment is on track and that your Invisalign trays are fitting properly.

Dr. Blalock grew up on a beef cattle farm in Crossville, TN. The time he spent working on the farm taught Dr. Blalock valuable problem-solving skills and a good work ethic. After Dr. Blalock suffered a dental injury when a cow’s hoof contacted his teeth, his dentist repaired his smile and sparked a fascination for the art of dentistry. Because of that experience, Dr. Blalock realized his calling was to become a dentist. He loves that dental work gives him the ability to work creatively with his hands while interacting with patients and making a positive impact on their lives.
Dr. Blalock graduated Summa Cum Laude from Tennessee Tech University with an undergraduate degree in health science biology. He went on to graduate with honors from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry
